The Stanley Works, originally a bolt and door hardware manufacturing company located in New Britain, Connecticut, was founded in 1843 by Frederick T. Stanley. A few years later, in 1857, Fredericks cousin, Henry Stanley, founded The Stanley Rule and Level Company. In 1920, The Rule and Level Company merged with The Stanley Works and would go on to become its famous Hand Tools Division. Over the years, The Stanley Works has produced some of the most innovative and useful tools ever made, including the Bailey Plane, the Surform shaper, the PowerLock tape rule, and most recently, the FatMax line of products.
Today, more than ever, Stanley continues to be an industry leader in tool innovation. In 2001, Stanley introduced more than 100 new products, bringing to 400 the number of new products introduced in the past four years. As a direct result of Stanleys commitment to excellence, Stanley was awarded the Prestigious Golden Hammer Award, presented for New Product Innovation in both 2000 and 2001.
The STANLEY FATMAX tapes are designed to fit your toolbelt, your hand, and the job. With 14 ft. of reach and a durable high impact case, these tapes are dependable on any jobsite. The protective full tape blade coating and added BladeArmor at the hook extend tape life against abrasion and heavy use*. The large, easy-to-read numbers and standard stud markers on the STANLEY tape measure assure accuracy.
The retractable tape measure allows for easier measurements when working alone, and the durable high-impact case with non-slip rubber stands up to jobsite demands. The tape measure features easy-to-read measurements with large font numbers and is designed to stand up to abrasion and repeated use with the durable full tape blade coating. The added BladeArmor coating maximizes the durability of the tape at the hook and extends its life**.
The tape rule has the first 6 feet reinforced with BladeArmor coating for maximum durability, and it offers an 11-inch tape standout along with 16-inch and 19.2-inch stud center markings to simplify framing jobs. The Mylar polyester film extends the life of the entire blade, and the heat-treated spring provides long life and smooth blade recoil.
Stanley's limited lifetime warranty backs the FATMAX tape measure, which measures 1-1/4-inch-by-25-feet.
